| There are numerous activities that take place in Stanhope at all times of the year. |

If Stanhope had its own national holiday, it would be Watermelon Day. Watermelon Day is a celebration sponsored by the Stanhope Lions Club and supported by everyone in the Stanhope area. Started in 1958, thousands now come from all over annually for the parade, carnival rides and games, ball games, free entertainment, and all the free watermelon you can eat!
The Stanhope City Park comes alive each Wednesday Evening in June and July. The food stand opens up selling sandwiches, slices of homemade pie, and ice cream. Along with the food, there is musical entertainment. So come and enjoy the musical entertainment, food, and the opportunity to catch up on the recent news with all of your friends.
Stanhope has a community garage sale day in May. Many of the residents of Stanhope participate, and a food stand is set up in the park. This is a great chance to visit around town and pick up some good deals at garage sales.
Other yearly happenings around Stanhope include the Halloween Party, Easter Egg Hunt, or a visit with Santa. |
